The technological utopians, a group of late 19th-century social reformers who wrote utopian fictions about future societies, often saw improvements in communication as vitally linked to the restructuring of the social order. Seppuku is Japanese for committing suicide by disemboweling yourself. It was 1967, and the world was in the middle of some sort of secular millenarian convulsion. It's a charming song of little consequence but I find it immensely pleasant and happy. A second bug nod for Alistair reynolds by no means cyberpunk but hard sf definetly. technology and the impacts in a wonderfully splinter human society and some really alien aliens.
